Divorce Mediation Certificate Program: Curriculum
Day 1 [Sessions 1 & 2]
Foundation & Process
Starting with an understanding of what Mediation is and isn't, participants learn every step of the Mediation Process and how to guide Divorce Mediation clients toward fair and equitable agreements.
Day 2 [Sessions 3 & 4]
Essential Skills & Issues
Participants learn the essential skills and fundamental principles of highly effective mediators, and how to address every issue that clients must come to agreements on to be granted an uncontested divorce.
Day 3 [Sessions 5 & 6]
Agreements & Application
Participants learn, step by step, how to take agreements reached in mediation and write Memoranda of Understanding for their clients, applying all they've learned in exercises and assignments.
Day 4 [Sessions 7 & 8]
Psychology & Planning
Participants finish the course by learning more about the psychology, ethics, and legal aspects of Mediation and how to prepare for and plan to add mediation to an existing practice or to start a mediation business.
Course Structure
This is 35 credit hour course, including 32 hours of class time and a minimum of 3 hours spent completing assignments outside of class.
All of our training is live, whether taken online or in person, so you will benefit from interaction with your instructors and fellow participants each time you come to class.

In-person classes are held over four full (often consecutive) days of training. We hold trainings all across the country, and on different days of the week, to make it easier for you to find nearby classes that work with your schedule. Flexible Learning Formats: On-Site, Virtual, and Self-Paced Options
Our On-site Option is available for both the 4-Day immersive Divorce Mediation Certificate Program and the 6-Hour Introduction to Divorce Mediation Workshop. The On-site format offers an immersive, four-day learning experience that earns participants a Certificate in Divorce Mediation, or a comprehensive Introduction to Divorce Mediation in an immersive one-day workshop.
This format takes place in a training room with live instructors. It provides participants with direct access to experienced instructors and the opportunity to engage in interactive workshops and role-playing scenarios.
This format allows for real-time feedback, networking with peers, and hands-on practice in a supportive setting. This option is ideal for those who prefer a structured classroom environment and direct interaction with experts and fellow attendees.
Our Online Live Option is available for both the 4-Day immersive Divorce Mediation Certificate Program and the 6-Hour Introduction to Divorce Mediation Workshop. This format provides an accessible and flexible training alternative, allowing participants to attend from anywhere in the world.
Through eight, four-hour weekly sessions in the Certificate Program or one six-hour session in the Introduction to Mediation Workshop, participants interact with instructors and peers in real time.
The online live format provides the same practical tools and strategies, materials, and online assessments offered by the on-site live learning option. It is perfect for those who need flexibility to balance their training with other professional and personal commitments while still receiving comprehensive instruction and support.
Self-Paced Workshop
Our self-paced Divorce Mediation Programs offer the same comprehensive learning experiences as our on-site live and online live programs offer, but with even more flexibility. Participants are able to work through the program on their own schedule and at their own pace.
Through a series of video and reading lessons, the same valuable skills and tools are made available to those who choose this flexible format. Lessons can be viewed, reviewed and revisited at anytime during the Program.
Participants receive feedback and access to experienced instructors and to peers engaged in the same self-paced learning format on our platform.

This Divorce Mediation Certificate Program is an accredited, intensive post-graduate level program that is approved for 35 Continuing Education Credits.
